SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A doctor and a female patient were injured Tuesday after an elderly man accidentally drove his vehicle into an Orange County medical building.
The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. at 999 North Tustin Ave., Santa Ana police said.
The 87-year-old man was pulling into a handicapped parking stall when he mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the break.
“The vehicle, a 4-door Lexus, went over the parking stop, down a small slope and collided into Diamond Medical Office,” officials said.
The sedan took out several large glass walls and came to rest halfway inside the office.
The doctor and female patient suffered minor injuries from the glass and debris, according to authorities.
The driver was not injured.
